United States Agricultural Research Ser

The United States Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is the principal in-house research agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), established on November 2, 1953, to conduct scientific research addressing agricultural problems of high national priority.[1][3] ARS focuses on areas such as nutrition, food safety, animal and crop production, natural resources, and sustainable systems, operating from 95 locations with about 2,000 scientists and a $1.7 billion budget.[2][4] Its mission is to develop solutions that ensure high-quality food, sustain the agricultural economy, and enhance the environment for the American public.[1][2]
