Truman Capote
Truman Capote (1924-1984) was an American novelist and short-story writer known for pioneering the true crime novel genre with his masterpiece In Cold Blood (1966), a journalistic account of a Kansas farm family murder. He achieved widespread acclaim with his novella Breakfast at Tiffany's (1958), about a New York café society girl named Holly Golightly, and was celebrated for his distinctive ornate style and Southern Gothic influences in his early fiction.
