Tracy Brown
Tracy Brown (1974-2023) was an American author of urban fiction, born and raised in Staten Island, New York, known for her bestselling novels set in that location focusing on women triumphing over adversity. She authored eleven novels, including Essence and USA Today bestsellers like Criminal Minded and Black, contributed to anthologies, wrote and directed stage plays, and worked as a celebrity ghostwriter and biographer while employed in finance. She directed the nonprofit We Are Ladies First LTD to empower young women in urban communities.
