Tori Amos

Tori Amos, born Myra Ellen Amos in 1963, is an American singer-songwriter and pianist who began playing piano at age two and gained fame with her 1992 debut album Little Earthquakes, featuring raw confessional songs like 'Silent All These Years' and 'Me and a Gun' about her rape. Raised as the daughter of a Methodist preacher in Maryland, she drew inspiration from the Beatles and Led Zeppelin, transitioned from an unsuccessful early album to international success, and released innovative works like Boys for Pele (1996) and From the Choirgirl Hotel (1998). Known for her eclectic style blending piano rock, electronic experimentation, and classical influences, she continues to pioneer across platforms, including a GRAMMY-nominated soundtrack for her 2025 children's book Tori and the Muses.
