Tony Yaksh

Tony L. Yaksh is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Anesthesiology and Pharmacology at the University of California, San Diego, renowned for his pioneering research on spinal pain processing, analgesia mechanisms, and the actions of spinally delivered drugs.[2][4] He earned his PhD from Purdue University in 1971 and BS in Applied Psychology from Georgia Institute of Technology in 1966, with prior roles at the Mayo Clinic and University of Wisconsin.[1][4] His lab has produced over 850 papers with more than 46,000 citations, significantly advancing preclinical safety assessments for pain therapeutics.[4][2]
