Tony Russell
Tony Russell is a British forester and horticulturist whose career began in 1978 with the Forestry Commission in Snowdonia, followed by studies in forestry and horticulture at Newton Rigg, Cumbria, and a role as Forester in the New Forest.[1] He served as head forester of Westonbirt Arboretum in Gloucestershire for 14 years and has hosted horticulture-based television and radio programs.[3] He is the author of over twenty books on trees, gardens, and plants, including The World Encyclopedia of Trees (2003), The Trees of Britain and Europe (2005), and his latest works The Magnificent Book of Trees and RHS Gardens of Great Britain & Ireland (Spring 2025).[1][3]
