Tom Bodett

Thomas Edward Bodett, born February 23, 1955, in Champaign, Illinois, and raised in Sturgis, Michigan, is an American author, voice actor, woodworker, and radio personality best known as the spokesman for Motel 6 since 1986, famous for the tagline 'We'll leave the light on for you.' He began his career as a logger and carpenter in Alaska before transitioning to broadcasting with NPR's All Things Considered in 1984 and authoring books like As Far As You Can Go without a Passport.
