Timothy Shopen

Timothy Ames (Tim) Shopen (1936–2005) was an American linguist born in Chicago, Illinois, who later became a faculty member in linguistics at the Australian National University in Canberra. He earned a BA in Greek Literature from Swarthmore College and an MA in English Language and Literature from the University of Michigan before passing away from cancer in Canberra at age 68.
