Timothy Insoll

Timothy Alexander Insoll is a British archaeologist and scholar of African and Islamic Studies, known for his research on the archaeology of Islam, indigenous religions in sub-Saharan Africa, and later African archaeology. He has held academic posts at the University of Manchester and the University of Exeter, where he serves as Al-Qasimi Professor of African and Islamic Archaeology.
