Tim Mackintosh-Smith

Tim Mackintosh-Smith (born 17 July 1961) is a British Arabist, writer, traveller, and historian who has lived in Yemen since the early 1980s. He is renowned for his prize-winning travel books on the Middle East, including a trilogy retracing Ibn Battutah's journeys, and his major historical work 'Arabs: A 3,000-Year History of Peoples, Tribes and Empires'[1][5].
