Thug Kitchen is a vegan recipe brand and blog founded in 2012 by Matt Holloway and Michelle Davis from Los Angeles, who anonymously wrote content in African-American Vernacular English (AAVE) featuring curse words, rap references, and vegan recipes. The project drew significant praise for its edgy style but also faced backlash for cultural appropriation of Black culture. In recent years, the founders announced plans to change the name after nearly a decade of controversy.
