Thucydides

Thucydides (c. 460–c. 400 BC) was an Athenian historian and general, best known for his *History of the Peloponnesian War*, which chronicles the conflict between Athens and Sparta up to 411 BC. Exiled for failing to defend Amphipolis in 424 BC, he applied rigorous standards of impartiality and evidence, earning recognition as the father of scientific history and political realism.[1][2][4]
