Thomas Nelson Page

Thomas Nelson Page (1853–1922) was an American author renowned for his romanticized depictions of Southern plantation life and the Old South in short stories, novels, and essays. Born on a plantation in Hanover County, Virginia, he studied at Washington College and the University of Virginia, practiced law briefly, and gained fame with 'Marse Chan' before serving as U.S. ambassador to Italy from 1913 to 1919.[1][2][3]
