Thomas Halliday
Thomas John Dixon Halliday is a British palaeobiologist, evolutionary biologist, and author specializing in mammal evolution and phylogenetics. He holds an Honorary Research Fellowship at the University of Birmingham and is a Scientific Associate of the Natural History Museum, with research combining theoretical and fossil record data on long-term patterns in mammals. His acclaimed book Otherlands, a history of life on Earth over 500 million years, was a bestseller and Foyles Book of the Year 2022, and he has won the Linnean Society’s John C. Marsden Medal in 2016 and the Hugh Miller Writing Competition in 2018.
