Thomas Forsyth Torrance

Thomas Forsyth Torrance (1913-2007) was a prominent 20th-century Reformed theologian, professor of Christian Dogmatics at New College, Edinburgh for 27 years, and Moderator of the Church of Scotland's General Assembly in 1976. Born to missionary parents in Chengdu, China, he served as a Church of Scotland minister, army chaplain during World War II, and translated Karl Barth's Church Dogmatics into English while advancing theology-science dialogue, earning the Templeton Prize in 1978.[1][2][3][4][5][7]
