Thomas Blom Hansen

Thomas Blom Hansen is a Danish anthropologist specializing in religious and political violence in India, Hindu nationalism, urban politics, and social life in post-apartheid South Africa. He is the Reliance-Dhirubhai Ambani Professor in South Asian Studies and Chair of the Department of Anthropology at Stanford University. His notable books include The Saffron Wave, Melancholia of Freedom, and The Law of Force.
