The Gentle Author is the pseudonymous creator of the long-running blog *Spitalfields Life*, which documents the people, places, and histories of East London. The author became widely known after a 2010 post about Shoreditch furniture-maker Maurice Franklin went viral, and has since written extensively about London’s overlooked local stories.[1][5]
