The College Board
The College Board is a not-for-profit membership organization founded in 1899 as the College Entrance Examination Board by 12 universities and preparatory high schools to standardize college admissions.[1][3] It pioneered the SAT and Advanced Placement (AP) programs, which millions of students take annually, and connects students to college success while generating significant annual revenue.[1][6] Governed by a Board of Trustees and headquartered in New York, NY, it has evolved into a major force in American education.[2][5]
