Tessa Hadley
Tessa Hadley (born Tessa Jane Nichols) is a British author born on February 28, 1956, in Bristol, England, known for her realistic novels and short stories that often explore family relationships and everyday life. She published her first novel, Accidents in the Home, at age 46, and has since authored numerous acclaimed works including The Past, Late in the Day, and Free Love, with short stories regularly appearing in The New Yorker. A winner of the Hawthornden Prize and Windham-Campbell Prize in 2016, as well as the Edge Hill Short Story Prize twice, she teaches literature and creative writing at Bath Spa University and lives in Cardiff, Wales.
