Taschen is a luxury art book publisher founded in 1980 by Benedikt Taschen in Cologne, Germany, starting from a small comic book store he opened at age 18. The company revolutionized the illustrated book market with affordable, high-quality publications on art, architecture, design, photography, pop culture, and more, including controversial themes like erotica and queer art. Today, it operates globally with offices in multiple cities and is co-managed by Benedikt and his daughter Marlene Taschen.
