Sylvia M Vardell

Sylvia M. Vardell is Professor Emerita in the School of Library and Information Studies at Texas Woman's University, where she taught graduate courses in literature for children and young adults. She has authored the textbook 'Children’s Literature in Action: A Librarian’s Guide' and co-edited poetry anthologies like 'The Poetry Friday Anthology' series with Janet Wong. Her work focuses on poetry for children, including the blog PoetryforChildren, and she is a recipient of the ALA Scholastic Library Publishing Award.
