Suzanne Martel
Suzanne Martel (born Suzanne Chouinard) was a renowned French-Canadian journalist, novelist, and celebrated author of children's literature, known for pioneering Quebec science fiction with her 1963 novel 'Quatre Montréalais en l'an 3000'. She wrote dozens of books primarily for young readers, including the historically acclaimed 'Jeanne, fille du Roy', and received multiple awards for her contributions to youth literature. Martel passed away in 2012 after a long illness, leaving a lasting legacy in Canadian literary history.
