Susan Wojciechowski

Susan Wojciechowski was born in Rochester, New York, and dreamed of being a Mouseketeer as a child before training as a teacher at Nazareth College of Rochester. After briefly teaching, she quit and later turned to writing, inspired by jealousy over her neighbor's published story; her essay about being skinny was published, launching her career. She is best known for her children's book 'The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey,' which won the Kate Greenaway Medal in 1995 and was adapted into a film.
