Susan Minot
Susan Minot is an award-winning American novelist, short-story writer, poet, playwright, screenwriter, and painter born in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1956, and raised in Manchester-by-the-Sea with six artistic siblings. Her debut novel *Monkeys* (1986) won the Prix Femina Étranger and was published in a dozen countries, while later works include the bestseller *Evening* (adapted into a film), the screenplay for *Stealing Beauty*, and recent books like *Why I Don’t Write* (2020) and *Don’t Be a Stranger* (2024). She has received O. Henry and Pushcart Prizes and teaches at Stony Brook University.
