Susan Hill
Dame Susan Elizabeth Hill is a distinguished English author born in 1942, celebrated for her mastery of gothic fiction, ghost stories, and contemporary literary works. She published her first novel, The Enclosure, while studying at King's College London in 1961, and has since become renowned for works including The Woman in Black (1983), I'm the King of the Castle (1970), and the Simon Serrailler crime series. She was appointed Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) in 2020 for her services to literature.
