Stuart J Murphy

Stuart J. Murphy, born in 1942 in Rockville, Connecticut, is a renowned author and education consultant best known for his MathStart series, which has sold over 14 million copies worldwide and promotes math skills through engaging stories for children.[1][2][3] A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, he worked as an art director in educational publishing, co-founded Ligature, Inc., and developed visual learning materials, including the I See I Learn series.[1][3][4] He continues to champion visual learning strategies and has served on advisory boards for institutions like Harvard Graduate School of Education.[1][3]
