Steven J. Brams

Steven J. Brams (born November 28, 1940) is an American game theorist and political scientist at the New York University Department of Politics, best known for applying game theory to analyze voting systems and fair division[1][4]. He is an independent discoverer of approval voting and has authored over 19 books, including 'Game Theory and Politics' and 'Biblical Games: Game Theory and the Hebrew Bible'[1][6]. Brams has applied his theories to international relations, bargaining, fairness, theology, and literature, and is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and a Guggenheim Fellow[7].
