Steve Leake
Steven Leake was born in 1986 in Charlotte, North Carolina, to two public school teachers and grew up on his family's farm in York, South Carolina, where he excelled as an ace pitcher in high school baseball.[1] After attending West Point briefly and studying creative writing at Winthrop University, he moved to Charleston and drew from those experiences for his debut novel 'Gethsemane,' while also publishing poetry and fiction in anthologies like North Carolina Bards and outlets such as Beatnik Cowboy.[1] A DIY folk and folk-rock singer-songwriter influenced by Southern spirituality and libertarian philosophy, he has released music including the album 'Truth is Power' and manages ventures like Monarch UrbanWear and Americans for Economic Independence.[1][3]
