Stephen Mitchell
Stephen Mitchell is an American poet, translator, scholar, and anthologist, best known for his influential translations and adaptations of classical and spiritual works such as the Tao Te Ching, the Book of Job, and the Bhagavad Gita. Born in Brooklyn in 1943, he studied at Amherst College, the Sorbonne, and Yale, and has also published original poetry and edited anthologies.
