Stephen Mills
Stephen S. Mills (he/they) is an award-winning poet, playwright, and Assistant Professor of writing at St. John's University, best known for his Lambda Award-winning poetry collection *He Do the Gay Man in Different Voices* (2012) and other books from Sibling Rivalry Press including *A History of the Unmarried* (2014) and *Not Everything Thrown Starts a Revolution* (2018).[1][4][5] His work, which has appeared in publications like *The American Poetry Review* and *The Antioch Review*, challenges queer narratives through lenses of pop culture, history, and gender norms; he has also won the Gival Press Oscar Wilde Poetry Award (2008) and Christopher Hewitt Award for Fiction (2014).[1][4] A native of Richmond, Indiana, with an MFA from Florida State University, Mills lives in New York City.[1][5]
