Stephen Huneck
Stephen Huneck (1948-2010) was a self-taught American woodcarver, printmaker, sculptor, and children's book author known for his whimsical works featuring dogs. Raised in Sudbury, Massachusetts, he left home at 17, studied at the Massachusetts College of Art while driving a cab in Boston, and later settled in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, with his wife Gwen, where he transformed his love for dogs and woodworking into a successful art career, including creating the Dog Chapel and writing books inspired by his black Lab Sally.[1][2][3][5]
