Stephen Graham

Stephen Graham (1884-1975) was a British journalist, travel-writer, essayist and novelist best known for his accounts of pre-revolutionary Russia and his journey to Jerusalem with Russian Christian pilgrims. His works expressed sympathy for the poor and agricultural laborers while critiquing industrialization. He lived in Russia during the turbulent years before the 1917 Revolution, served in World War I, and befriended literary figures including H.G. Wells and Ernest Hemingway.
