Stephen Chbosky

Stephen Chbosky is an American author, screenwriter, and film director best known for his bestselling coming-of-age novel The Perks of Being a Wallflower (1999), which he also adapted into a 2012 film that he wrote and directed.[1][2] He has directed other films including Wonder (2017) and the 2021 adaptation of Dear Evan Hansen, and published his first psychological horror novel, Imaginary Friend, in 2019.[1][6] Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he graduated from the University of Southern California's Filmic Writing Program.[2][3]
