Stephen Ambrose
Stephen E. Ambrose (1936-2002) was an American historian, professor, and bestselling author renowned for his works on World War II, including *D-Day*, *Citizen Soldiers*, and *Band of Brothers*, as well as biographies of Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower and Richard Nixon, and *Undaunted Courage* on the Lewis and Clark Expedition. He taught for decades at the University of New Orleans, founded the Eisenhower Center and the National D-Day Museum (now The National WWII Museum), and contributed to films and documentaries like *Saving Private Ryan* and the HBO miniseries *Band of Brothers*.[1][2][4][7]
