Statius

Publius Papinius Statius was a Latin poet of the 1st century CE, born in Naples, Roman Empire, and active during the reign of Emperor Domitian. He is best known for his epic works Thebaid and the unfinished Achilleid, as well as his collection of occasional poetry, the Silvae. Statius also appears as a guide in Dante's Divine Comedy.
