Stanley F Horn
Stanley Fitzgerald Horn (1889-1980) was an American historian, businessman, and editor born on a family farm at Neely's Bend in Davidson County, Tennessee. He worked for over seven decades with the Southern Lumberman trade journal, becoming its editor and advocate for reforestation, while authoring nine books on the Civil War, including The Army of Tennessee (1941) and The Decisive Battle of Nashville (1956). He served as president of the Tennessee Historical Society for multiple terms and was appointed Tennessee State Historian.
