Stan Sakai (Author, Illustrator)

Stan Sakai is a Japanese-American comic book writer, artist, and letterer born in Kyoto, Japan, who grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii, and now resides in California. He began his career lettering Sergio Aragonés' Groo the Wanderer and Spider-Man newspaper strips, but is best known for creating Usagi Yojimbo in 1984, an epic graphic novel series featuring a samurai rabbit in feudal Japan that has earned him multiple Eisner Awards and international acclaim.
