Stan Lee (born Stanley Martin Lieber) was an American comic book writer, editor, publisher, and producer best known for his revolutionary work at Marvel Comics, co-creating iconic characters like the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, the X-Men, Iron Man, and the Avengers alongside artists such as Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko. Rising from humble beginnings during the Great Depression, he joined Timely Comics (later Marvel) in 1941, became its primary creative leader in the 1960s, and transformed the superhero genre with complex, flawed characters and social commentary. His influence extended to multimedia ventures, including films and television, spanning over six decades until his death in 2018.
