Sister Louis Marie Bryan SC DSW

Sister Louis Marie Bryan, SC, DSW, was a Sister of Charity of St. Elizabeth born in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, to Arthur and Iza (Lanclos) Bryan. She entered the order on August 20, 1957, and served for 55 years, earning an AB in Sociology from Howard University and MSW and DSW degrees in Social Casework from Columbia University. She contributed to religious scholarship, including writings on the history of the National Black Sisters' Conference, and died at age 84 on November 8, 2012, at St. Anne Villa in Convent Station, NJ.[1][2][3]
