Sir Walter Scott
Sir Walter Scott (1771–1832) was a Scottish novelist, poet, historian, and playwright, widely regarded as a pioneer and major practitioner of the historical novel. His Waverley novels, including "Waverley" and "Ivanhoe," helped make historical fiction one of the most influential genres in modern literature.
