Sir Alec Cairncross

Sir Alec Cairncross was a British economist and public servant known for his influential work in government economic policy, including serving as Economic Adviser to HM Government and head of the Government Economic Service. He also held academic posts at Glasgow and Oxford and wrote books on economics, memoirs, and British economic history.
