Simon T. Yates

Simon T. Yates is an internationally renowned British mountaineer, explorer, and author with over four decades of experience in high-altitude and remote environments. He is best known for his role in the dramatic 1985 first ascent of the West Face of Siula Grande in the Peruvian Andes, famously documented in Joe Simpson's book, film, and stage play Touching the Void. Since then, Yates has completed more than 80 expeditions worldwide, achieving numerous first ascents in the Andes, Himalaya, Karakoram, Patagonia, and Greenland.[1]
