Simon Coleman
Simon Coleman is a British anthropologist and Chancellor Jackman Professor in the Department for the Study of Religion at the University of Toronto, where he has taught since 2010 after positions at Durham and Sussex Universities. He earned his PhD from the University of Cambridge and has conducted fieldwork in Sweden, the United Kingdom, and Nigeria, focusing on Charismatic Christianity, Prosperity theology, and the Word of Faith movement. Coleman has edited the Journal of the Royal Anthropological Institute and co-edits Religion and Society: Advances in Research, and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada in 2024 for his pioneering work in the anthropology of Christianity.
