Sigurd Olson

Sigurd Ferdinand Olson was an American author, environmentalist, and advocate for the protection of wilderness, best known for his lyrical writings about the Boundary Waters region of Minnesota and Ontario. His acclaimed books, including The Singing Wilderness and Listening Point, helped inspire the modern environmental movement and the establishment of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. He also served as president of The Wilderness Society and the National Parks Association.
