Sigizmund Krzhizhanovsky
Sigizmund Krzhizhanovsky (1887-1950) was a Russian and Soviet short-story writer, known for being 'known for being unknown,' with most of his works published posthumously after being rejected during his lifetime. Born in Kyiv to a Polish family, he studied law and philology at Kyiv University, traveled Europe in 1912, moved to Moscow in 1922, and worked in theater, editing, and translation while writing fantastical prose. He suffered a stroke in 1950 and died later that year in Moscow, with his burial place unknown.[1][2][5]
