Sidney Hart

Sydney Hart served as a submariner in the North Sea, the Atlantic, and the Mediterranean during World War Two, later emigrating to Australia as a £10 Pommie migrant where he met his wife Betty. Unable to settle permanently, his family returned to England, and he worked in a car factory while writing about his experiences, authoring books such as Submarine Upholder, Discharged Dead, and Pommie Migrant. He died suddenly in 1979 and was buried at sea from Portsmouth as per his last request.[1][2][4]
