Sid Fleischman
Sid Fleischman (1920–2010) was an American author, journalist, screenwriter, and former professional magician best known for his humorous children’s books, especially The Whipping Boy, which won the Newbery Medal in 1987. His work often blended adventure, tall tales, mystery, and American history, and he wrote more than 60 books across children’s and adult fiction as well as nonfiction about magic.
