Shirley Hazzard

Shirley Hazzard (1931–2016) was an Australian-born American novelist, short story writer, and essayist acclaimed for her literary refinement and emotional complexity. She won the 2003 National Book Award for Fiction and the Miles Franklin Award for her novel The Great Fire, and her work includes two National Book Award Finalists: The Bay of Noon and The Transit of Venus[2][3][4].
