Sherry Shahan

Sherry Shahan is an award-winning American author born in 1949, specializing in young adult fiction and non-fiction, with notable works including Purple Daze, Ice Island, and Frozen Stiff inspired by her Alaskan adventures and global travels. She holds an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts (2007) and has taught creative writing for UCLA Extension for a decade while working as a freelance travel journalist and photographer. Living in a California beach town, she has facilitated writers' workshops for three decades and continues to explore the world, from riding in the Iditarod to snorkeling with penguins.
