Shel Silverstein
Sheldon Allan 'Shel' Silverstein was an American writer, cartoonist, songwriter, and musician born in Chicago, Illinois. He gained fame for his children's books like *The Giving Tree*, *Where the Sidewalk Ends*, and *A Light in the Attic*, as well as songs such as 'A Boy Named Sue' for Johnny Cash. Silverstein's versatile career included work for Playboy magazine, military cartoons, and plays, until his death in 1999.
